WDL2 _Programmer_Martinez
Week 2:
Our group is now in week 2 of designing this game. We have the sprites ready to be used in the game space in 2D format. The goal for my programming area was to construct the basic movement mechanic of the player that demonstrates movement.
After entering the design of the game in Godot using the sprites and creating a prototype level using tile sprites, enemy sprites, player sprite and item sprites, the code of the Key bind movements were inserted to the Baker Player Character. After testing the code by running the game in Godot, the code worked and the player is now able to move using the arrow keys.
We showed our current design to another peer group working on Grama with banana. We demonstrated the arrow key movement to them while also discussing the other components of the game using the newly added sprites that will demonstrate their placement.
The group offered advice and remarks of the game while asking questions of the core functions of each mechanic of the game and the sprites involvement.
The goal for this coming week is to introduce enemy movement that follows player movement which will demonstrate the opposing force of the game that will add challenge to the player.
